Opinion Poll on Alcoholism Treatment

Two of the great controversies of addiction and alcoholism are whether it is a disease and who should treat it, recovering addicts or medical professionals. These are arguments that have gone on for decades and continue to divide the research and treatment professionals, to say nothing of the general population.

Do you feel strongly about the issue? Well this is an opportunity for you to have your say in the opinion poll. Who should walk the walk, is addiction a disease and who should be responsible for its treatment? Do you believe that it is a disease or is that merely an excuse for a self inflicted problem? Are you someone who feels that only people who have had first hand experince can understand the problems and therefore be effective helpers. Or are do you believe that it should be left to professionals or even that it does not matter. Do you want to have a say about anything else that is relevant, feel free to express your opinion. When you submit your answers another page will open with your answers added to others who have answered previously.
